I use fór FEM cómputing FEMAP or ComsoI Multiphysics whére it is nó problem to impórt 3D solids stored in various graphics formats.

I still did not tried the Avizo software, but it seems to be an alternative to Materialise and Simpleware, although a little bit less user friendly, though, maybe cheaper.
